One of the great Montreal pleasures is the abundance of good restaurants, with cuisine from the four corners of the earth. Cheap Thrills has been discovering these restaurants for nearly a decade: the current edition is hot off the press.

Independent diners submit the reviews. These are Montrealers who know and love food, and know how to find a bargain. According to the introduction, “The restaurants generally offer meals at dinner for $15 or less. This does not mean that every meal in the restaurant will be under $15, but there should be a reasonable selection in that price range before taxes, tip, and alcohol.” And the food has to be good.

Véhicule has indexed the book by specialty and by neighbourhood, and there is a Cheap Thrills Classics section – restaurants which have appeared in previous editions, and are particularly noteworthy. There is information about wheelchair access, bus/metro, credit cards, wine, etc. A must-have for anyone who wants to eat well for less. mRb
