Gazette food editor Armstrong’s recipe sources include les Cercles de fermières, Club Lionnes, and branches of Quebec Women’s Institutes, whose memberships usually include great cooks. There are recipes and tips, of course, but Armstrong also gives information on wine tours and apple picking, and regales us with snippets of history. Various regions of Quebec are represented; there are, for example, five different recipes for tourtière. One caveat: the recipes are not always on the pages referred to in the index.
