FUNKY JUNK: Cool Stuff to Make with Hardware by Renée Schwartz (Kids Can Press) These crafts are for both boys (who sometimes think crafts are uncool) and girls. The fun hardware projects include an alien key chain, bungee bug bracelet, and critter clip. Though the heavy metal chess set ranks as the most impressive project, it might not be for chess purists. Colour photographs make the crafts inviting, while illustrated step-by-step instructions create a user-friendly resource. Drawings of materials and tips on how and where items are kept in hardware stores simplify shopping for supplies. mRb
