Mar’ce Merrell takes a look at how children feel when they must share their time between parents in Trading Riley (Roussan Publishers, $8.95, ages 8 to 11). Merrell’s tale includes a camping trip and some rather cool pet lizards whose changing colours become a metaphor for Riley’s feelings. What’s nice about this book is that it doesn’t condescend but speaks to kids on an even playing field. mRb
