Please, Louise! is a slam dunk from the dream team of Frieda Wishinsky and Marie-Louise Gay. This is a funny and feisty tale of a brother and sister who definitely like each other, even if Louise can be a pest and Jake can seem like a no-fun big brother. Wanting only to be with him, Louise trails Jake, who is annoyed and wants to be alone. In a moment of desperation, Jake wishes that Louise would turn into a dog. Exit Louise, and enter a small affectionate dog. What has Jake done? Well, it seems that the little sister does turn the tables on him eventually. This is a delightful and witty book, with a rhyming title and refrain bound to be repeated by both children and parents. The text and fantastic illustrations work together seamlessly. mRb
