When the students in Ms. Lake’s class raise ducklings, three are born healthy but one, named Lemon, has difficulty standing. Ms. Lake and her students keep Lemon in the classroom and take special care of her. The students’ love for the duckling, plus their problem-solving skills, eventually lead them to an ingenious solution that allows Lemon to participate fully in the life of the classroom and even in that of her siblings on the farm.
