The Montreal Review of Books launches its Summer 2026 issue on Thursday, July 2 in the Backyard Theatre of Teesri Duniya Theatre (Cité-des-Hospitalières, 251 Ave des Pins). Please note that this is an outdoor venue with a covered roof, with three to four steps leading to the seating area. There will be signage indicating the way.
Doors open at 5:30 pm, and mRb readings begin at 6:00 with featured authors Natalie Doonan (Eating the Urban Wild, McGill-Queen’s University Press), Guy Rex Rodgers (What We Choose to Forget, ELAN) and Chanel Sutherland (Layaway Child, House of Anansi). The authors will be available to sign books after the readings. Admission is free.

The Backyard Theatre is an outdoor, covered event space adjoining the Cité-des-Hospitalières. Guests may enter from the gardens or from the building. The building is wheelchair accessible by ramp and elevator, entrance to the left of the main doors at 251 Avenue des Pins Ouest. There is a short flight of steps leading to the landing where the readings will take place. Wheelchair accessible and gender neutral bathrooms are available.
